How We Built LetterLeaf: Automating Email the Right Way

We didn’t start with AI.
We started with a problem.

Email was slowing us down. As someone working across product and sales, I saw the same thing over and over again: important emails slipping through the cracks. Customers waiting too long. Internal threads lost in the noise.

At first, I tried to solve it with process. New rules. Shared inboxes. Color-coded stars. But it never scaled. The problem wasn’t the people or the process — it was the inbox itself. It just wasn’t built for the pace or pressure of how SaaS teams work today.

So we started building LetterLeaf.

Less Noise, More Action

From the beginning, our focus was clarity. We didn’t want another inbox, or a generic chatbot. We wanted something that could sit inside your existing email flow — and make it smarter.

We taught LetterLeaf to spot high-priority emails, recognize intent, and take action:
• Escalate when needed
• Draft replies in your tone
• Route things to the right person automatically

It’s not just automation — it’s automation that understands.

What “The Right Way” Means to Us

We didn’t want AI guessing or overstepping. So we designed LetterLeaf with a simple rule: stay helpful, stay human. That means it adapts to how you work, and never sends anything you wouldn’t.
